We are seeking a hands-on and strategic Director of Manufacturing to oversee our manufacturing operations and drive operational excellence. Reporting to the executive team, this role requires a senior-level manager or director with deep expertise in electrical manufacturing, industrial electrical systems, and team leadership. This is a floor-focused, hands-on position, requiring the ability to lead by example, manage a $2 million budget, and drive performance in a fast-paced, growing organization.
The Director will directly manage a team of 20 Technicians and collaborate with a total workforce of 60 employees to ensure compliance with NEC and UL891 standards while driving productivity, quality, and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years in electrical manufacturing, with experience in Transformers, Switchboards, and Electric Circuit Breakers.
- Leadership: At least 3 years in a senior management or director role, overseeing teams and managing performance plans.
- Technical Skills:
- Understanding of industrial electrical systems, including large transformers (2000 volts).
- Expertise in manufacturing equipment, including Press Brakes, Laser Cutters, and Busbar Bending Machines.
- Hands-on ability to perform tasks and troubleshoot on the floor.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field is required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven track record of managing a $2 million budget and delivering measurable process improvements.
- Leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities
Manufacturing Leadership:
- Oversee manufacturing processes, including metal fabrication, CNC operation, busbar bending, assembly, wiring, and testing.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, UL891, and other relevant standards while delivering high-quality products like large transformers (up to 2000 volts), switchboards, and electric circuit breakers.
- Actively participate on the production floor to guide, support, and inspire the team.
- Develop and execute manufacturing strategies that align with the company’s rapid growth objectives.
- Manage a $2 million budget, including forecasting, planning, and resource allocation.
- Lead performance planning, including setting goals, conducting evaluations, and implementing improvement plans for staff.
- Implement lean manufacturing practices to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet production targets and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and quality assurance teams to streamline processes and improve product quality.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 20 Technicians to achieve production goals.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and safety.
- Provide leadership by example, showcasing technical expertise and hands-on problem-solving.
