Responsibilities
- CNC programming candidates must have experience with CNC Presses, and even more importantly, CNC press brakes
- Must have the mechanical experience setting these machines
- Develops specifications from general description and utilizes CAD/CAM software to produce required product
- Develops specifications from general description and draws sketch of part or product to be fabricated
- Confers with engineers, production personnel, or others to resolve fabrication or assembly problems
- Studies blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements
- Calculates and sets controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, and depth and angel of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input or edit computerized machine control media
- Selects holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials to meet production specification
- Determines material and all tooling necessary for subsequent fabrication
