Responsibilities
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and performing routine and preventative maintenance across the plant facility. This position involves directly hands on, supervising the maintenance team, managing daily operations, and ensuring all facilities and equipment are functioning optimally. The role includes managing minor and major repairs, maintenance schedules, interacting with contractors, and supporting the team in emergency situations. The Supervisor will also assist in the planning, budgeting, inventory control, and ordering parts as necessary, while also maintaining communication with upper management and across all levels of the plant.
- strong emphasis on teamwork, communication, and leadership within the maintenance department.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Gmail, etc.), with a basic to intermediate knowledge of Excel.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal English; bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
- Knowledge of welding practices, mechanical skills (electrical, plumbing, carpentry), and experience in painting and repair of various materials.
- Maintain air compressors, air dryers, chlorine & acid scrubbers, and drench units.
- Exposure to various weather conditions (hot and cold).
- Hands-on maintenance work in a facility that produces hazardous materials (e.g., bleach, acid).
- Use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols is required.
- Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.
