Responsibilities
- Tool & Die Fabrication: Design, build, and maintain progressive dies for use in metal stamping, ensuring they meet customer specifications and quality standards. Work with engineers and machinists to develop tools for new and existing products.
- Tool Modifications & Repairs: Perform routine maintenance, modifications, and repairs on progressive dies to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime in production. Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related issues quickly and efficiently.
- Blueprint Reading & Interpretation: Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to accurately manufacture, assemble, and repair progressive tools and dies.
- Precision Machining: Operate precision machining equipment, including CNC machines, surface grinders, lathes, and EDM (Electrical Discharge Machining) to create high-precision tooling components.
- Tool Design & Optimization: Contribute to the design and development of new tooling solutions that enhance production efficiency, reduce scrap, and ensure product quality. Work with cross-functional teams to implement improvements.
- Quality Control & Inspection: Utilize measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.) to ensure that tools and dies meet strict tolerances and quality standards. Conduct thorough inspections and adjustments as necessary.
