Responsibilities
- Programming and Development:
- Develop CNC programs using CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Optimize tool paths, speeds, and feeds to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure programs align with engineering specifications and quality standards.
- Machine Setup Support:
- Collaborate with machinists to set up CNC machines for production runs.
- Provide clear documentation, including setup sheets and tool lists, to support machine operators.
- Troubleshoot and refine programs to resolve machining issues.
- Design Interpretation:
- Review and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and 3D models to determine machining requirements.
- Identify and address potential design challenges or inconsistencies before production.
- Quality Assurance:
- Validate and test new CNC programs to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
- Utilize precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, and CMMs) to verify part dimensions.
- Revise programs as needed to address quality concerns.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to improve machining processes and reduce cycle times.
- Recommend tooling, fixture designs, or workflow enhancements to optimize production.
- Stay updated on advancements in CNC technology and industry best practices.
