We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our team. This role is ideal for a skilled professional with a mechanical aptitude, expertise in operating Okuma lathes and mills, and a commitment to precision and safety. You’ll work in a dynamic, high-mix, low-volume production environment, creating custom parts and ensuring quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to determine setup requirements and machining sequences.
- Measure, mark, and scribe dimensions on materials to guide machining operations.
- Operate Okuma lathes and mills to machine bar stock and other materials to exact dimensions.
- Modify CNC programs as needed to meet production requirements.
- Verify finished parts meet specifications using precision measuring tools.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and tools as required.
- High school diploma or GED required; certificate in CIMM or related industrial technology preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a job shop or similar high-mix, low-volume production environment.
- Mechanical aptitude and intermediate math and reading skills.
- Expertise in operating and programming Okuma lathes and mills; heavy Okuma lathe experience is required.
- Ability to interpret blueprints and use precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Physical ability to stand/walk for 8–10 hours per shift and lift up to 50 lbs using proper techniques.

Responsibilities
- Determine setup requirements, sequence of operations and tolerance of finished parts using blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals and instructions
- Measure, mark and scribe dimensions and reference points on material as needed to set guides for subsequent machining
- Machine bar stock to specified dimensions
- Verify conformance of finished parts to specifications using precision measuring equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned, based on workload and business need
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read blueprints
- Intermediate math and reading skills
- Working knowledge of Okuma lathes, mills and other industrial equipment used in the machine shop
- Heavy Okuma lathe experience required
- Ability to modify CNC programs
