We are seeking a skilled Conventional Machinist with manual lathe experience to join our team in Freeport, NY. The ideal candidate will have experience operating conventional machines, specifically manual lathes, to produce precision metal parts according to specifications. You will be responsible for setting up and operating machinery, ensuring a high level of accuracy and quality in your work.   Qualifications:

• Proven experience operating manual lathes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings.
• knowledge of machining processes and metalworking principles.
• Proficiency with measuring instruments.
• attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.

salary: $19 - $23 per hour

work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate conventional machining equipment, with a focus on manual lathes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to meet required tolerances.
• Perform quality checks using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Troubleshoot and resolve machining issues to maintain production efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools to ensure optimal performance.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
