The Utility (Machine Setter) is responsible for setting up and operating printing machines to produce high-quality printed materials. This role includes preparing machines, changing spools of paper or ink, ensuring smooth operation, checking prints for quality, and performing basic machine maintenance. Experience in print production, flexographic printing, and quality control is required.

Responsibilities:

• Operate equipment following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain quality standards, minimize waste, and optimize productivity.
• Manage consumables (paper, ink, water) and load roll stands/splicers.
• Log rolls, return stock to inventory, and monitor ink viscosity, pH, and glue thickness.
• Ensure consistent operation of label applicators and assist with setups and wash-ups.
• Prepare supplies for upcoming jobs and track press counts.
• Participate in apprenticeship programs for professional growth.
• Maintain cleanliness and ensure safe operation around moving equipment.
• Communicate effectively with team members.

Training is approximately one week on 1st shift (6a-2p), then transfer to 3rd shift (10p-2p). Steel-toe shoes are required for the interview and job.
