Exciting opportunity for a client of mine who is looking for a Shipping and receiving Specialist!  The processes involved in the transportation and handling of goods as they move into and out of a company or warehouse. These operations are crucial to supply chain management and are essential for ensuring the timely delivery and proper storage of products.

salary: $17 - $24 per hour
shift: First
work hours: 8 AM - 4 PM
education: High School

Responsibilities

• Receiving:
  
  
  • Inventory Management: When goods arrive, the receiving department checks shipments against purchase orders to ensure that the correct items have been delivered in the right quantities.
  • Inspection: Items are inspected for damage, defects, or discrepancies before they are accepted.
  • Storage: Once inspected, the goods are moved to appropriate storage areas or shelves in the warehouse.
  • Documentation: Receivers update inventory systems and ensure proper documentation for tracking purposes, such as bills of lading or packing slips.

  • Order Fulfillment: The shipping department picks, packs, and prepares items based on customer orders or internal requisitions.
  • Packaging: Items are securely packed to ensure they are protected during transit. This could involve labeling, shrink-wrapping, or boxing items.
  • Labeling: Shipping labels, which include tracking information, addresses, and other relevant details, are affixed to packages.
  • Logistics Coordination: The department schedules carriers (such as UPS, FedEx, or freight companies) and manages delivery deadlines to ensure timely shipments.
  • Tracking and Documentation: Shipping information is recorded in the system, and tracking numbers are provided to customers for real-time tracking of shipments.

Skills

Inventory (2 years of experience is preferred)

Cycle Counting (2 years of experience is preferred)
