- Strive for 100% accuracy of Offset and Flexo plate proofing to the customers proof to avoid credits, reruns, waste, and downtime.
- Measure all Flexo plates using a micrometer for floor relief and plate caliper insuring they are in tolerance.
- Perform weekly back exposure step test to maintain the correct relief depth for Flexo plates.
- Perform weekly face exposure test to maintain proper shoulders of dots, text, and depth of reverse text for Flexo plates.
- Perform weekly post exposure test to maintain proper cure and tack finish for Flexo plates.
- Take weekly light meter measurements to quantify 20mW to 27mW for exposure lamps. Change all lamps at 20mW.
- Maintenance both the Offset and Flexo plate processors weekly.
- Maintenance the solvent recycler daily after distillation of solvent.
- Filing of all unused backup plates for exact repeat orders.
- Other duties as required.

Responsibilities
The Prepress Technician is responsible for imaging Offset plates, Flexo plates and mounting Flexo plates based on production schedule. Proofing plates to the okayed proof in the job jacket insuring no copy errors. Backup for Ink Tech for drawdowns of Flexo inks ensuring color match to SpotOn color management. SpotOn color checks of PMS and Special Blend colors during the okay procedure. Backup for Ink Tech for Flexo ink blending. Daily recycling of solvent separating polymers to replenish solvent. Maintenance for plate processors and solvent recycler. Knowledge of all software applications listed below is required.
