Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Sewing Drapes and Shades:

• Operate sewing machines to stitch together fabric panels for drapes and shades.
• Ensure the correct alignment, pleating, and stitching techniques are applied to produce high-quality window coverings.
• Adjust tension, stitch length, and other machine settings as needed to accommodate different fabric types.

Cutting and Measuring:

• Measure fabric accurately to ensure the correct size for the window.
• Cut fabric with precision to avoid waste and ensure a perfect fit.

Fitting and Assembly:

• Assemble the various components of drapes and shades, including adding lining, hems, and grommets, as well as attaching hooks, rods, or other hardware.
• Ensure the fabric is properly installed and hemmed to avoid fraying and ensure durability.

Quality Control:

• Inspect completed window treatments for defects such as uneven stitching, puckering, or incorrect measurements.
• Make adjustments or corrections as needed to ensure the final product meets the required standards.

Customization:

• Work with customers or designers to understand specific design preferences and customize window treatments accordingly, which might involve incorporating different fabrics, colors, or patterns.

Maintenance of Tools:

• Maintain and troubleshoot sewing machines and equipment to ensure they are in proper working order.
• Replace needles, thread, and other sewing materials regularly.

The essential functions of this role include:
