Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Setup and Operation:
- Set up and operate a variety of CNC milling machines, including but not limited to, vertical machining centers (VMCs), horizontal machining centers (HMCs), and other complex milling machines.
- Load and unload parts, fixtures, and tooling.
- Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and workholding devices.
- Program or modify CNC programs as needed using conversational programming or CAM software.
- Monitor machine operations, ensuring quality and accuracy of parts.
- Perform in-process inspections using various measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Troubleshoot and resolve machine malfunctions.
- Maintain accurate production records.
- Quality Control:
- Conduct thorough inspections of finished parts to ensure they meet all required specifications and tolerances.
- Identify and report any quality issues or discrepancies.
- Implement corrective actions to prevent future quality problems.
- Maintenance and Housekeeping:
- Perform routine machine maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Follow all safety procedures and regulations.
