Compensation:

Role Summary: As a Warehouse Lead, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the loading and unloading of freight, managing inventory, and ensuring warehouse operations run smoothly. Acting as the main liaison between the Warehouse Manager and the team, you’ll guide warehouse employees and provide leadership in specific functional areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate material handling equipment (MHE) including forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, and layer pickers.
• Load and unload inbound and outbound freight, sorting by size and destination.
• Decipher freight coding to ensure efficient movement and tracking of freight.
• Reconcile driver pick-up and delivery manifests.
• Label, weigh, and dimension freight accurately.
• Perform routine cleanup to maintain a safe, clean, and organized dock.
• Record damaged shipments and misrouted freight.
• Communicate workload needs with the Warehouse Supervisor and adjust staffing as necessary.
• Coordinate daily tasks, delegate warehouse responsibilities, and ensure quality storage and service standards.
• Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to OSHA regulations.
• Provide training and guidance to new or less experienced warehouse personnel.
• Identify and report system or process issues to Warehouse Supervisor.

Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 4-6 years of warehouse experience, with leadership responsibilities.
• Proficient in operating various warehouse equipment, including forklifts and computers.
• Organizational, inventory, and accounting skills.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to lift and move varying weights (up to 50+ lbs).
• Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a team.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklift and other material handling equipment (MHE) including sit down, reach truck, cherry picker, layer pick, etc. 

• Load and unload inbound and outbound containers and sort according to size of freight and destination 

• Read, decode, and decipher freight coding in order to expedite freight movement and tracing process 

• Reconcile driver pick up and delivery manifests 

• Label, weigh, and dimensionalize freight 

• Perform cleanup activities in the work area to ensure safety and cleanliness of dock 

• Record damaged shipments and misrouted freight on applicable reports 

• Communicate work load needs and partner with Warehouse Supervisor 

• Determine daily tasks, workloads and coordinates staffing accordingly in conjunction with Warehouse Supervisor. Delegate warehouse tasks in assigned area in conjunction with Warehouse  Supervisor 

• Identify system or process issues and communicate those to Warehouse Supervisor 

• Coordinate trucking transportation in and out of the warehouse 

• Maintain quality standards for warehouse storage and service including communication to internal and external customers 

• Maintain and ensure a safe working environment 

• Complete other duties or tasks as assigned  

• Will provide training to other warehousepersons
