Responsibilities

• Equipment Setup and Maintenance:
  
  
  • Install, repair, and maintain rigging equipment such as slings, shackles, and harnesses.
  • Inspect rigging equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
• Load Management:
  
  
  • Attach loads to rigging equipment to prepare for lifting or moving.
  • Calculate the weight of loads and ensure the appropriate rigging equipment is used.
  • Guide loads to ensure safe movement and placement.
• Safety Compliance:
  
  
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections and report any safety hazards or faulty equipment.
  • Use protective gear and ensure all team members comply with safety standards.
• Coordination and Communication:
  
  
  • Work closely with crane operators and other team members to ensure precise load movements.
  • Provide clear hand signals or use communication devices to guide crane operators.
  • Coordinate with project managers to understand specific requirements for each project.
• Documentation:
  
  
  • Maintain detailed records of rigging operations, equipment used, and inspections performed.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding rigging and lifting operations.

The essential functions of this role include:

working in a smoke free environment

wearing steel toe shoes

manual lifting up to 50lbs

standing for 8 hours at one time

Skills

Hoist Handling (1 year of experience is required)

Using pulleys (1 year of experience is preferred)

Rigging (1 year of experience is required)
