Responsibilities
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on packaging machines to ensure they operate efficiently and minimize unplanned downtime.
- Inspect, clean, and lubricate machinery as part of routine maintenance procedures.
- Replace worn-out or damaged parts, such as belts, gears, and motors, before they cause equipment failure.
- Adjust settings, calibrate machines, and perform routine tests to maintain packaging quality and machine performance.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic issues on packaging equipment, including filling machines, capping machines, label applicators, and carton formers.
- Quickly respond to equipment malfunctions or breakdowns during production runs to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as production and maintenance, to quickly identify problems and develop solutions.
- Set up packaging machinery for different product runs, ensuring correct configuration for each specific product size, type, and packaging requirements.
- Perform machine changeovers efficiently, adjusting settings and replacing tooling (e.g., molds, dies, or filling nozzles) to accommodate different products or packaging formats.
- Ensure the transition between products or shifts occurs smoothly to maintain production schedules.
