Responsibilities

• Anchor - Faster paced environment.  Almost no automation or machine work, all hand work with small parts.  Most are sitting stations but can stand as well.  Receives 375 - 425 returned life vest that are returned after a 3 month use by customer.
  • Clean Room - Open the package and take apart the life vest into its individual components and clean each item in a separate Kan-Ban sorted line.
  • Evaluation - Test the working function of each part to determine what items need to be serviced.  Estimated about 70% of all items require service
  • Service - Replacing chips, boards and cables of the components.  This station is a bit more advanced and typically requires soldering knowledge.  Zoll trains for soldering in a 2 week certification class after mastering the more basic functions
  • Testing - Each vest is placed into a tester for about 10 minutes to make sure all functionality is working
  • Shipping - Items are placed into boxes and loaded on a dolly for shipping. About 25 to 30 pounds max weight
