A leading truck leasing and rental company with over 60 years of experience, is seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Technician to join our growing team. Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance services on diesel trucks.
- Conduct diesel repairs, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
- Drive to road calls and service customers on-site.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness in the work area.
- Inspect trucks to ensure they meet operational standards.
- Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, battery checks, lubrication, etc.).
- Repair major components such as engines, transmissions, and differentials.
- Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements (engine, safety, combustion standards).
- Work independently to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
- Maintain certifications and pursue additional training (ASE certifications a plus).
- 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic (preferred).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL Class B preferred.
- Diesel mechanic training a plus but not required.
- strong truck mechanical aptitude and experience.
- Ability to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers.
- bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Chinese) a plus.
salary: $66,560 - $81,120 per year

Responsibilities

· Prior diesel mechanic experience
· CDL Class B – driving throughout Long Island
· Diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
· Perform duties with little or no supervision and in a timely and efficient manner
· Inspect trucks to ensure that they are in proper working condition
· Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries and lubricating equipment and machinery
· Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose
· Repairing and troubleshooting of major components such as engine, transmission, and differentials
· Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
· Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
