Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications: Accurately understand project scope and requirements.
- Take-offs: Perform accurate material take-offs for all aspects of masonry construction, including brick, block, stone, mortar, and other related materials.
- Labor estimation: Determine the required labor hours and crew sizes for each project phase.
- Subcontractor quotes: Obtain and evaluate quotes from subcontractors for specialized work.
- Cost analysis: Analyze project costs and identify potential cost-saving measures.
- Prepare detailed estimates: Compile comprehensive and accurate cost estimates, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead.
- Bid preparation: Assist in the preparation of competitive bids for projects.
- Project management support: Provide cost and scheduling information to project managers as needed.
- Stay updated: Keep abreast of industry trends, new materials, and construction techniques.
