Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain 5-axis CNC milling machines (primarily Mazak, OKK, Niigata) to meet production goals and ensure continuous operation.
- Light programming (adjusting G-code/M-code) to optimize machine performance and production efficiency.
- Read and interpret technical specifications and engineering drawings to ensure parts are machined to exact dimensions.
- Perform precise machining within +/- .0005 tolerances using a variety of measuring instruments, including micrometers, height gauges, and calipers.
- Load tools, replace broken inserts, and adjust offsets as necessary to maintain optimal machine performance.
- Ensure high-quality standards are met in a high-production, 24/7 operation environment.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and achieve production targets.
- 5+ years of CNC machining experience, with aerospace experience strongly preferred.
- Proven experience with 5-axis milling machines; comfortable running machines 24/7.
- Familiarity with GD&T and dimensioning to ensure compliance with strict tolerances.
- strong knowledge of machining processes, including the ability to work within +/- .0005 tolerances.
- Ability to read and interpret specs and drawings, ensuring the highest precision in all machining operations.
- Comfortable working in a high-production, fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Mazak, OKK, Niigata (milling), and Mazak, Puma (lathes) is a plus.
- strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience from landing gear/aerospace manufacturers is a strong plus.

- Tooling Management: Select, install, and monitor cutting tools for wear; make adjustments as needed to maintain accuracy and quality.
- Quality Control: Inspect parts using precision instruments (micrometers, calipers) to ensure they meet dimensional and tolerance specifications.
- Continuous Monitoring: Oversee 24/7 machine operation, adjusting feeds and speeds to maintain consistent quality and meet production schedules.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment and proper machine operation.
- Documentation: Keep accurate logs of machine usage, maintenance, and production progress.
- Collaboration: Work with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues and optimize processes.
