Responsibilities
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, and imperfections from machined aerospace components using hand tools (files, deburring knives, abrasive pads) and power tools (grinders, rotary tools, tumblers).
- Read and interpret blueprints and GD&T specifications to ensure compliance with part tolerances and finishing requirements.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and microscopes.
- Work with various materials including aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and Inconel, ensuring proper finishing techniques for each.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including inspection reports and quality control records.
- Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality inspectors to address defects, improve finishing techniques, and maintain production quality.
- Follow strict safety protocols and aerospace regulations (AS9100, ISO 9001, FAA standards) to ensure compliance.
- Keep workstations and equipment clean and well-maintained, performing routine maintenance on tools and machinery.
