Responsibilities
- Installation of Electrical Systems: Install electrical wiring, circuits, outlets, lighting, and other electrical components in new and existing buildings and structures.
- Repairs and Maintenance: Diagnose electrical issues and perform repairs on faulty wiring, equipment, and electrical systems. This includes troubleshooting issues with electrical panels, circuit breakers, and lighting systems.
- Upgrades: Modify and upgrade electrical systems, including replacing outdated panels and installing new components to meet modern standards.
- Testing and Inspections: Conduct electrical tests and inspections to ensure systems are working properly and comply with safety regulations.
- Compliance with Codes: Ensure that electrical installations meet local and national codes, such as the National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Blueprint and Diagram Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical drawings to determine proper installation methods.
- Safety Protocols: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to avoid accidents, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and using safe work practices when dealing with electrical hazards.
- Customer Interaction: Interact with clients to explain electrical problems, recommend solutions, and provide estimated costs for repairs or installations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used, timesheets, and service reports.
