Pick up goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed. Load and unload cargo. Responsible for basic vehicle maintenance; comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes at all times. Complete and verify paperwork for accuracy. You follow applicable traffic laws, load and secure cargo, and transport potentially hazardous materials. Your responsibilities include maintaining relevant paperwork for each shipment you haul, performing pre- and post-trip inspections on your vehicle, and reporting any mechanical issues to your company.

Responsibilities

• CDL with hazmat certification.
• Apply knowledge of commercial driving and skills in maneuvering vehicles.
• Properly operate all controls and equipment for the safe loading and unloading of cargo, including but not limited to operating and manipulating boom cranes, lift gates, and manual pallet jacks.
• Properly stow and secure all cargo and equipment before movement as required by US DOT regulations and company policy.
• Professional representation of the company through responsible driving, courteous customer service, and appearance.
• Inspect CMV for defects to ensure safe operating conditions before, during, and after trips and submit a documented report on the condition of the CMV at the end of each trip or tour of duty.
• Check shipping papers to determine the nature of the load and verify for accuracy, including proper display of all required placards at all times.
• Properly drive CMV to and from designated destinations for up to the maximum hours as DOT hours-of-service rules allow.
• Comply with all company and customer safety and delivery requirements, including wearing the required personal protective equipment when required.
