We are seeking an experienced Gearbox Mechanic who has extensive knowledge of how to repair, restoration and upgrade of gear boxes, pumps, compressors, centrifuges, turbines, and blowers. Responsibilities also include disassembly, troubleshooting, and reassembly of mechanical components. Located in South Houston.

salary: $62,500 - $75,000 per year
shift: First
work hours: 6 AM - 2 PM
education: High School

Responsibilities

• Disassembling equipment
• Cleaning and inspecting pumps, blowers, and gear boxes
• Inspect parts and record dimensions
• Diagnose failure mode when possible
• Develop repair work scope and identify parts needed
• Repair, reassemble, paint and prepare for shipment
• Basic rigging and safe lifting knowledge
• Sand blasting, painting, and parts cleaning

The essential functions of this role include:

wearing steel toe shoes

working in a non-temperature controlled environment

manual lifting up to 50lbs

standing for 8 hours at one time

working up to 15 hrs of overtime per week
