We have a client currently seeking experienced candidates for a Diesel Mechanic position.  Primary duties include performing diagnotic tests on diesel vehicles and equipment to find faults, analyzing results and reparing/replacing engines, steering, transmission, braking, or lighting system components.  Qualified mechanics need to be highly organized and have the ability to communicate effectively as well as expected to maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles and interact with employees on a daily basis in addition to the following:

• Perform preventative maintenance on service vehicles
• Adhere to an inspection procedure checklist
• Replace vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems
• Aptitude for math and science
• Physically fit and able to lift up to 150 pounds
• Advanced knowledge of diesel engine components
• Proficient IT and diagnostic skillset
• Ensure cleanliness of shop
• Valid driver's license required as employee will be driving company issued service truck
• ASE Diesel Certification advantageous
• Degree or diploma in mechanical or automotive engineering

Responsibilities

Run and analyze diagnostic test results on vehicles.  Replace vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems.  Checking vehicle lighting systems.  Test drive vehicles to gauge performance.  Perform preventative maintenance on service vehicles.  Adhere to an inspection procedure checklist.  Ensure cleanliness of the shop.

wearing steel toe shoes

working in a non-temperature controlled environment

manual lifting up to 50lbs

standing for 8 hours at one time

working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week
