We are looking for a marine mechanic, or marine mechanic apprentice who is willing to go the extra mile and willing to learn from the experts we already have onboard.  Responsibilities:

• Inspect, maintain, and repair marine fire, safety, and rescue equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, SCBAs, gas detectors).
• Work directly with ships' superintendents, officers, and crew during inspections.
• Maintain workshop tools and equipment.
• Prepare certification paperwork and follow maritime safety regulations.
• Provide technical assistance and complete projects onboard and in the shop.

Requirements:

• 2–3 years of experience with marine fire and safety equipment.
• Knowledge of fire safety regulations, electrical circuits, and mechanical piping.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work in ship/rig environments.
• High school diploma (technical training preferred).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain TWIC card.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.
