Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Lamination Process: Apply fiberglass and resin layers to molds, ensuring even and consistent coverage to form the boat's hull, deck, or other components.
- Material Preparation: Prepare materials for lamination, such as cutting fiberglass cloth and mixing resins to the correct proportions.
- Mold Maintenance: Clean and prepare molds before use, ensuring that they are free from defects and properly treated to prevent the materials from sticking.
- Quality Control: Inspect laminated components for quality, ensuring there are no air pockets, bubbles, or defects in the material.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols when handling hazardous materials like resin, gel coats, and solvents. Wear appropriate protective gear such as gloves, masks, and goggles.
- Equipment Operation: Operate tools such as rollers, brushes, and spray guns to apply resin and fiberglass materials to molds.
- Finishing: Smooth and finish the surface of the laminate, ensuring a clean and even surface free of imperfections.
- Repairs: Repair any defects in the laminating process, such as patching holes or imperfections in the fiberglass.
- Collaboration: Work with other members of the boatbuilding team, including designers and engineers, to ensure that the boat meets required specifications and quality standards.
