Responsibilities
The primary purpose will be supporting the Safety Manager and team. This Specialist will handle all administrative tasks related to safety, compliance and reports. And will help translate & explain safety processes to employees.
Main Responsibilities:
- Maintain OSHA logs for multiple locations
- Help perform Safety Audits and report findings to management and owners
- Meet with managers, supervisors and employees to discuss safety concerns & findings
- Review reports to create data, charts, graphs, etc. to present to Safety Committee and management each week
- Help review and develop safety trainings and policies
- Review and update job descriptions to ensure OSHA compliant
- Maintain all DOT files for drivers
- Perform lift truck certifications and maintain lift truck files to ensure OSHA compliance
- Schedule and create agendas for monthly safety meetings for multiple manufacturing facilities
- High School Diploma/GED is required + additional college is highly preferred
- At least 2 years experience in safety management
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Highly proficient with MS Office (especially Excel)
- Experience writing formal letters, emails, presentations, etc.
- wearing steel toe shoes
- working in a non-temperature controlled environment
- standing for 6 hours at one time
- working up to 5 hrs of overtime per week
