Are you an experienced leader in fabrication looking for a hands-on supervisory role? We’re hiring a Fabrication Shop Supervisor to oversee day-to-day shop operations, ensuring production goals are met while leading a skilled team to success. This role is primarily on the shop floor, working directly with the team to maintain efficiency, quality, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise Daily Operations – Oversee fabrication activities, ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining quality and efficiency.
- Lead and Train the Team – Provide hands-on leadership, training, and mentorship to fabricators, welders, and assemblers.
- Monitor Production Metrics – Track shop goals, production output, and efficiency metrics, implementing process improvements where needed.
- Ensure Quality Control – Inspect work for accuracy, adherence to specifications, and compliance with quality standards.
- Maintain Shop Organization – Ensure proper use and maintenance of hand tools, welding equipment, and assembly processes while keeping the shop floor organized and efficient.
- Enforce Safety Standards – Promote a safety culture, conduct routine safety checks, and ensure adherence to OSHA and company safety policies.
- Optimize Workflow & Processes – Identify bottlenecks, streamline processes, and collaborate with other departments to improve productivity.
- Manage Materials & Inventory – Oversee stock levels of materials, tools, and equipment, coordinating with purchasing as needed.
- Coordinate with Other Departments – Work closely with engineering, production planning, and quality assurance teams to meet project requirements.
- Proven experience as a Fabrication Supervisor, Shop Supervisor, or Lead Fabricator in a manufacturing or job shop environment.
- Knowledge of welding, metal fabrication, hand tools, assembly, and production processes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate, train, and hold a team accountable.
- Hands-on approach, spending most of the time on the shop floor rather than behind a desk.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
