Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Human Resources to meet warehouse objectives by assisting with the selection and interviewing of new staff, providing orientation and onboarding, and training employees on new duties.
- Manage day-to-day employee performance, including assigning tasks, scheduling, coaching, counseling, administering disciplinary actions, and communicating job expectations.
- Conduct performance evaluations, facilitate salary increases, and enforce company policies and procedures.
- Contribute to warehouse operational standards by helping develop strategic plans related to productivity, quality, and customer service.
- Recommend and implement improvements to warehouse systems for greater efficiency.
- Ensure optimal storage management by organizing floor space, adhering to storage principles, and suggesting improvements.
- Secure the warehouse by setting alarms and testing security systems.
- Maintain equipment functionality by enforcing operational procedures, troubleshooting breakdowns, conducting preventive maintenance, and reporting necessary repairs to the Warehouse or Branch Manager.
- Adapt work procedures to meet warehouse demands as required by production schedules and workflow changes.
- Interpret and enforce company policies and safety regulations to ensure compliance.
- Recommend measures to improve service quality in areas needing attention.
- Stay updated with industry trends and enhance job knowledge by engaging in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
