Responsibilities
The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to shape and form metal materials according to specifications. This position plays a critical role in ensuring precision and quality in manufacturing projects. The ideal candidate will have mechanical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.
Machine Operation:
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend, cut, and shape metal sheets and plates.
- Adjust machine settings based on metal type and project specifications.
- Monitor performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure accuracy.
- Use various measuring tools to take precise measurements in both metric and US systems.
- Load and unload metal sheets or plates onto the machine.
- Inspect raw materials to meet quality standards before processing.
- Handle materials safely to prevent damage or injury.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure finished products meet specifications.
- Utilize math skills to read blueprints and calculate precise measurements.
- Identify and resolve production issues to maintain quality output.
- Document and report any deviations to supervisors or the quality assurance team.
