Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled CAD Specialist to join our team at a leading water jet cutting company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating, modifying, and optimizing CAD designs for precision cutting projects. This role requires expertise in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD software to develop accurate drawings that align with production requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD designs for water jet cutting projects.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and client specifications to develop precise cutting files.
- Optimize designs for material efficiency, accuracy, and production feasibility.
- Work closely with engineers, production teams, and customers to ensure design feasibility.
- Program and generate G-code or DXF files for CNC-controlled water jet machines.
- Conduct quality control checks on designs to ensure accuracy before manufacturing.
- Maintain an organized database of drawings and project files.
- Assist in troubleshooting design or production-related issues.
- Stay updated with industry trends and improvements in CAD software and water jet cutting technology.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar CAD software.
- Experience in CNC programming, DXF file preparation, and G-code generation.
- strong understanding of material properties, tolerances, and cutting parameters.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and engineering blueprints.
- Experience with water jet cutting, laser cutting, or CNC machining is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field (preferred).
- 2+ years of experience in CAD design, preferably in the manufacturing or water jet cutting industry.
