What you'll be doing:

• Safely and efficiently transport products to and from locations year-round
• Partner with dispatch in safely transporting both hazmat and non-hazmat materials
• Assist the operation with other tasks deemed necessary to meet customer expectations
• Report maintenance issues to Dispatch
• Driving between 10 to 12 hours per day, 55-60 hours weekly. Periodic weekend work as needed.
• Take an active role in our safety program, including attendance at all safety meetings and ensuring safe behaviors at all times.

Requirements to be successful in this position:

• 2 years of driving experience required
• Valid CDL-A license
• Qualify for a TWIC card (Financial assistance available)
• A mixture of local routes. Occasional Saturday or Sunday as needed
• Safety consciousness and understanding of safe work practices for operating in different environments
• Read, write, speak, and understand English
• Successfully pass Savage's road test, which will include a proper pre- and post-trip inspection of the vehicle
• Stable work history: Please include a 10-year work history on the application

Here are some of the physical requirements of this role:

• Climb in and out of the cab multiple times per shift
• Lift up to 50 pounds periodically
• Drive and work in adverse weather conditions
