We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Tampa, FL. This role is responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of heavy-duty trucks, concrete mixers, and construction equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. The ideal candidate will have diagnostic skills, hands-on experience with diesel engines, and a commitment to safety and efficiency.

salary: $66,560 - $83,200 per year

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines – Perform troubleshooting on engines, transmissions, fuel systems, and electrical components.
  
  
• Conduct preventative maintenance – Perform routine inspections, oil changes, fluid checks, and tune-ups to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
  
  
• Use diagnostic tools and software – Identify engine issues using computerized diagnostic equipment like Cummins INSITE, CAT ET, or Detroit Diesel Diagnostic Link.
  
  
• Repair and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems – Troubleshoot and service hydraulic lifts, pumps, and air brake systems.
  
  
• Perform brake, suspension, and drivetrain repairs – Replace worn-out components, align wheels, and ensure safe braking performance.
  
  
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations – Follow OSHA and DOT guidelines, handle hazardous materials properly, and maintain clean work areas.
  
  
• Weld and fabricate parts when needed – Use MIG, TIG, and stick welding techniques for frame repairs and custom modifications.
  
  
• Document repairs and communicate with supervisors – Maintain accurate records of work performed and discuss needed repairs or maintenance with management.
  
  

The essential functions of this role include:

standing for 10 hours at one time
