We are seeking a skilled Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to join our team at a food manufacturing facility. This role focuses on the mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of ammonia refrigeration systems, with an emphasis on pump maintenance and fluid handling systems. The ideal candidate will have experience working with centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, compressors, condensers, and evaporators to ensure the efficient operation of our refrigeration systems. Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of ammonia refrigeration systems, including compressors, condensers, evaporators, and pumps.
• Inspect, repair, and replace pumps, valves, piping, and other mechanical components in the ammonia refrigeration system.
• Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance on refrigeration equipment to ensure optimal performance and reduce downtime.
• Monitor and adjust system pressures, temperatures, and fluid levels to maintain safe and efficient operation.
• Diagnose and repair centrifugal, positive displacement, and liquid recirculation pumps used in the refrigeration system.
• Handle oil changes, seal replacements, bearing maintenance, and shaft alignments for pumps and compressors.
• Perform routine mechanical repairs on refrigeration system components, including welding, pipefitting, and motor replacements.
• Work with operations and quality control teams to ensure refrigeration equipment maintains proper temperature control for food safety.
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation for system performance, repairs, and compliance inspections.
• Assist in the installation of new refrigeration equipment and system upgrades.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and ammonia handling procedures to ensure a safe work environment.

working up to 8 hrs of overtime per week

working weekends
