Randstad is hiring a Slitter Operator!
A Slitter Operator operates and maintains slitting machines to cut and slit materials into narrower rolls, ensuring quality, production standards, and safe working practices, while also performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting.
Job responsibilities and requirements: Operating Slitting Machines: Set up, operate, and maintain slitting machines to cut and slit parent rolls of material into smaller slit doffs.
Quality Control: Perform quality checks, inspect and remove defects, and ensure the output meets quality and production standards.
Machine Adjustments: Adjust machine settings for size and material specifications.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct regular maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and perform minor repairs on the machines.
Documentation: Complete all records and paperwork accurately.
Communication: Communicate with supervisors or team members about machine faults and alterations to set up. Production: Follow set production programs and understand the importance of running to plan.
Material Handling: Load and unload materials, ensuring proper handling and storage. Labeling and Packaging: Label, identify, and pack material according to specifications.
Qualifications and Skills: Technical Skills: Ability to operate and maintain slitting machines. Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
