Responsibilities
- Set up, program, and operate CNC machines: including mills, lathes, 3-axis and 5-axis systems, to create high-quality, precise components.
- Programming & Tool Selection: Write and modify CNC programs using G-code, select appropriate tooling, and adjust feeds and speeds as necessary for different materials.
- Blueprint & Technical Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD/CAM files to understand the specifications for each project.
- Machine Maintenance & Calibration: Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration to ensure the equipment is running at optimal efficiency and accuracy.
- Inspection and Quality Control: Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.) to inspect finished products for conformance to specifications and tolerances.
- Safety Compliance: Follow and enforce all safety protocols and work with appropriate PPE to maintain a safe working environment.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues related to machining processes, such as tool wear, part defects, and machine malfunctions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure projects meet client specifications, deadlines, and quality standards.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed records of work performed, machine settings, and part inspections. Ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
