Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot & Repair: Diagnose and repair issues with bag machinery and supporting equipment.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety procedures such as Lock Out/Tag Out and Confined Space protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
- Machine Maintenance: Perform repairs on machinery defects outside of the scheduled maintenance cycle.
- Reporting: Notify the Maintenance Manager of any defects that cannot be immediately repaired.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized job site.
- Skill Development: Continuously improve technical skills through training and on-the-job experience.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other mechanics and employees to support team efforts.
- Overtime Flexibility: Be available to work overtime as needed to complete equipment repairs.
- Minimize Downtime: Complete repairs promptly to reduce machine downtime and improve production efficiency.
- Zero Defect Mindset: Perform repairs with a focus on quality, ensuring that the job is done right the first time.
- Continuous Learning: Ask questions when unfamiliar with a task to ensure correct procedures are followed.
- Knowledge of machine assembly and installation, electro-pneumatic troubleshooting, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Experience with welding, brazing, and part rebuilding.
- Ability to perform general building repairs and machine overhauls.
- Familiarity with air compressor maintenance and electrical work (electrician skills are a plus).
- Previous experience in a similar maintenance role is preferred.

Responsibilities

- Follow Safety Procedures: Adhere to all safety protocols, including Lock Out/Tag Out and Confined Space procedures, to ensure safe working conditions.
- Address Unscheduled Machine Defects: Repair defects found in machinery outside of the regular maintenance schedule when they are identified.
- Report Unresolved Issues: Notify the Maintenance Manager of any machine defects discovered during repairs that cannot be fixed immediately.
- Maintain Worksite Cleanliness: Ensure the job site is kept clean and organized, following good housekeeping practices.
- Continuous Skill Improvement: Work on improving technical skills either through formal training or hands-on experience on the job.
- Collaborate with Team: Be a team player by assisting fellow mechanics and other employees who may need help with their tasks.
- Work Overtime When Needed: Be available to work overtime as required to ensure the timely repair of down equipment.
- Minimize Downtime: Complete repairs quickly and effectively, minimizing the downtime of machinery.
- Quality Repair Work: Maintain a "zero defect" approach, ensuring repairs are done correctly the first time.
- Ask Questions When Uncertain: Seek clarification or guidance if unfamiliar with a particular repair or procedure to ensure the correct approach is used.
