Are you a mechanically skilled technician who enjoys hands-on work and seeing projects through from blueprint to finished product? We are seeking an Assembly Technician to join our growing team, specializing in the production of custom-built diesel and natural gas-powered electric generators and motorized equipment.
What You’ll Do:
- Interpret assembly blueprints and specifications to manually assemble custom generator units.
- Assemble systems and verify parts to stock lists using calipers, gauges, and micrometers (metric and standard).
- Fasten and install components such as piping, wiring, and electrical parts using hand tools, rivet guns, and MIG welding equipment.
- Position, align, and set clearances for components manually or using hoists.
- Inspect, operate, and test finished products to ensure performance meets specifications.
- Maintain accurate labor and quality control documentation per job requirements.
- Collaborate with production foremen and uphold safety and cleanliness standards in a team-driven environment.
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical school certificate in Automotive/Diesel Technology or Welding/Fabrication preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years’ mechanical, electrical, assembly, or welding experience preferred.
- Diagnostic skills and a solid understanding of mechanical functions.
- Good communication, attention to detail, and a commitment to safe work practices.

Responsibilities
1. Read and interpret assembly blueprints and specifications, and plan manual assembly of
custom generator units.
2. Assemble systems, verify conformance of parts to stock lists and blueprints, using
measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges and micrometers – both metric and
standard measurements.
3. Fasten and install generator components such as piping, fixtures, wiring and electrical
components to form assemblies or subassemblies, using hand tools, rivet guns, and MIG
welding equipment.
4. Position and align components for assembly, manually or using hoists.
5. Set and verify parts clearances to spec.
6. Inspect, operate, and test completed products to verify functioning, machine capabilities,
and conformances to customer specifications.
7. Completes all timekeeping requirements to track labor in jobs.
8. Completes all quality control paperwork per job as directed.
9. Notifies production upon completion of assembly.
10. Adheres to the assembly process in place while maintaining a safe and clean work
environment.
11. Other responsibilities as designated by and at the discretion of management.
