Role Summary: Randstad USA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join a food production team in Aurora, IL. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment such as conveyors, pumps, cooking kettles, bagging machines, and HVAC systems. The right candidate will be mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and able to work independently to ensure operations run efficiently.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; vocational/technical certification preferred.
- 2–5 years of industrial maintenance experience required.
- Experience with bagging machines, kettles, and conveyance systems is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and measuring instruments.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in hot/noisy environments, and stand/kneel for long periods.
- Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, or be on-call if needed.
- $35+/hr depending on experience

Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues across production systems.
- Dismantle, adjust, or replace defective parts and components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
- Maintain accurate logs and documentation of maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with engineers and production staff to minimize downtime.
- Comply with safety regulations and follow lockout/tagout procedures.
- Support inventory control by tracking and ordering spare parts.
- Execute general building maintenance duties as needed.
- Suggest process improvements and contribute to a continuous improvement culture.
