Responsibilities
- Perform MIG welding on steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and sheet metal components to assemble truck bodies and equipment.
- Operate fabrication machinery such as shears, brakes, and metal shaping tools in a manufacturing environment.
- Prepare and stage materials, tools, and parts necessary for each build or assembly task.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions to ensure accurate assembly.
- Assemble full commercial truck units, including utility bodies, racks, storage components, and specialty equipment (e.g., snow/ice, cargo, or cable pulling systems).
- Conduct visual and physical inspections of welds and assemblies to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
- Perform touch-ups, filling, and minor repairs as needed on completed assemblies.
- Use hand and power tools to install and secure component parts with precision and attention to detail.
