We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Assurance (QA) Technician to join our team at a food manufacturing facility. This role ensures that products meet company and regulatory standards for quality and safety. Working in a cold environment, the QA Technician will monitor production processes, conduct testing, and enforce quality control procedures to maintain the integrity of our food products. Key Responsibilities: Quality Assurance Monitoring: Conduct routine checks on raw materials, in-process production, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards. Verify that equipment, sanitation practices, and production processes align with food safety protocols. Testing and Documentation: Perform quality and safety tests, including temperature monitoring, microbial testing, and visual inspections. Record test results accurately and maintain comprehensive documentation for audits and reviews. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all products meet company standards and comply with local, state, and federal food safety regulations. Assist in audits and inspections by regulatory agencies or third-party certifiers. Collaboration: Work closely with production and maintenance teams to address quality concerns promptly. Provide feedback and recommend improvements to enhance product quality and safety. Environmental Adaptability: Perform all duties in a cold environment, adhering to required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety protocols. Ensure compliance with cold storage requirements for raw materials and finished products. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve quality issues, including product deviations or equipment malfunctions. Escalate recurring or critical issues to management. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor's degree in food science, biology, or a related field is a plus. Previous experience in a quality assurance or quality control role, preferably in a food manufacturing setting. Strong understanding of food safety standards, such as HACCP, GMPs, or SQF. Attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures. Proficiency in basic computer applications for data entry and reporting. Willingness to work in a cold environment for extended periods. Work Environment: The facility operates in a cold environment, with temperatures typically ranging from 35°F to 45°F (1°C to 7°C).
