job summary:
Responsible for the accurate checking or counting of all product for both inbound and outbound freight and for ensuring all product is free of damage and infestation and production code dates are properly recorded. Ensure the quantity, quality, labeling, and addressing of orders corresponds to customer specifications or other requirements. Primary Duties: Prior to product storage, count all inbound product, compare to manifest, and check all shipments for damage, infestation, and production code dates. Report shortages, damages, and mis-shipments on appropriate forms and forward to appropriate party. Sign for inbound shipments or accept signature for outbound merchandise due to a special request. Check contents of outbound freight as filled and assembled by warehouse personnel. Compare the quantity, quality, labeling, and address with customer's order to ensure outgoing shipments are complete and correct. Safely and effectively operate forklift or any other materials handling equipment as required and assist in the loading or unloading of merchandise moving into or out of the warehouse as needed. Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse and conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety. Partcipate in physical inventories. Perform additional duties as assigned by management, Qualifications: Essential - Ability to work specified shift. Ability to work for the set wage amount. Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules. Ability to read, understand, and follow directions/instructions. Ability to read English to adequately identify, locate, and disburse product. Ability to mount and dismount forklift through the duration of the shift which requires bending, stretching, stepping, reaching, climbing, and stooping. Have appropriate eye, hand and foot coordination to properly use various equipment and/or tools. Ability to load/unload, lift/move equipment/product which may weigh up to 100 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, reach, stretch, step, climb and/or sit frequently or through the duration of the shift. At least 6 months experience. Desirable - Ability to use automated inventory control equipment. Working Conditions: The work involves risks or discomforts, e.g. working around moving parts and equipment, which require some safety precautions and/or the use of protective safety equipment. May be exposed to hazardous materials.
