job summary:
Responsibilities: 1. Operate and set up press brake machinery to bend, shape, and form sheet metal materials according to precise specifications and blueprints. 2. Determine appropriate tooling, dies, and gauges required for each job, ensuring accurate and consistent production results. 3. Monitor machine operations, making necessary adjustments to ensure the correct angles, dimensions, and tolerances are met in accordance with project requirements. 4. Collaborate with engineering and design teams to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics, translating them into successful fabrication processes. 5. Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy, performing measurements and visual checks to verify conformance to specifications. 6. Troubleshoot and resolve minor machine malfunctions and operational issues, escalating more complex problems to maintenance or engineering as needed. 7. Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. 8. Record production data, including quantities, materials used, and time taken, into relevant documentation systems to track progress and contribute to process improvement efforts. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in sheet metal fabrication is a plus. - Proven experience operating press brake machinery in a manufacturing or fabrication environment. - Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics. - Strong mathematical skills for precise measurements and calculations. - Knowledge of various sheet metal materials and their characteristics. - Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality, accurate parts. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. - Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude toward continuous improvement. Physical Requirements: - Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. - Capable of lifting and maneuvering heavy materials up to 50 lbs and equipment. - Comfortable working in a noisy and fast-paced industrial setting.
