job summary:
The Press Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining stamping presses to produce metal components according to specifications. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards. Set up and operate stamping presses to produce metal parts according to blueprints and work orders. Load raw materials (metal sheets, coils) and adjust machine settings to ensure precise stamping. Monitor machine operation and inspect finished parts for quality and adherence to specifications. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of press machines and tooling. Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Keep accurate records of production output, scrap, and machine performance. Collaborate with team members to optimize production efficiency and minimize downtime. Assist with die changes, adjustments, and minor repairs as needed Previous experience as a Press Operator or in metal stamping/manufacturing is preferred. Familiarity with various types of stamping presses (progressive, transfer, or single-hit). Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work instructions. Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. Basic math skills and understanding of measurements/tolerances. Commitment to workplace safety and quality control standards. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
