As a Saw Operator at PolymerShapes, you'll be responsible for safely operating saws to cut plastic materials to specific dimensions, ensuring quality and adhering to safety protocols, while also maintaining a clean and organized work area. Here's a more detailed breakdown of the typical responsibilities and requirements: Responsibilities: - Operating Saws: - Safely operate various types of CNC saws - Reading Work Orders: - Accurately work orders to determine dimensions, quantities, and profiles for each cut. - Material Handling: - Load and unload materials onto the saw, potentially using forklifts or other equipment. - Quality Control: - Inspect cut pieces for accuracy and quality, identifying and addressing any defects or issues. - Machine Maintenance: - Maintain and clean saw equipment, reporting any malfunctions or needed repairs. - Safety Compliance: - Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures while operating the saw and in the work area. - Documentation: - Complete and submit daily production reports, maintaining accurate records of work performed. - Teamwork: - Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and managers to ensure smooth operations. - Other Duties: - May be required to perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: - Experience: While experience is a plus, we often provides on-the-job training. - Basic Skills: Ability to read and understand blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders. - Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic math calculations and use measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, etc.). - Physical Abilities: Ability to lift and move materials, and stand for extended periods. - Safety Awareness: Strong commitment to safety and adherence to safety protocols. - Computer Skills: Basic computer skills may be required for operating saw equipment and accessing work orders. - Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors. - Compensation to be discussed, and will be determined based on experience.
