job summary:
Currently seeking a parts cleaner for a local laser cutting, fabrication, and engineering solutions company in Byron Center, MI on a temp to hire basis. Purpose: Parts Cleaner will ensure that all parts meet quality standards and specifications for delivery to other departments or customer. Duties/Responsibilities: Compare first piece parts with customer specifications to ensure accuracy. Deburr, file, scrape and/or grind parts in preparation for next department or customer. Run parts through DiscMaster/Timesaver machines as needed. Deposit scrap material into the designated hopper or onto the specified pallet. Complete necessary training and certification to operate hi-lo equipment safely and efficiently as needed to perform job duties. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Skills/Qualifications: Basic math skills to include counting and sequencing. Ability to compare part drawings with finished product for accuracy. Able to read a tape measure to 32nd of an inch. Attention to detail ensuring quality of cleaning work. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently. Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Experience in a manufacturing environment. Requirements: Ability to read/write/speak in English Ability to stand throughout entire shift with frequent bending and twisting. Ability to lift 50lbs occasionally. Hi-lo certification may be needed to perform job duties and requires a valid driver's license. May be required to perform other jobs outside of your department as needed.

- Successful performance on a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Test.
- up to 20 lbs. (light lifting)
