We're looking for an experienced Cloud Platform Engineer to lead the design and implementation of Kafka-based streaming solutions on the Confluent Cloud platform. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate Kafka into applications, manage Kafka infrastructure, and support platform upgrades. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise with Confluent Kafka, KSQL DB, Schema Registry, and Kafka connectors.
Must-Have Skills:
- Confluent Event Streaming Platform (Confluent Kafka/Confluent Cloud): 3+ years of experience.
- KSQL DB: Proficiency in KSQL DB for Kafka stream processing.
- Schema Registry and Kafka Connectors: 3+ years of experience configuring and maintaining these components.
- Site Reliability Engineering (SRE): Knowledge of SRE principles to enhance reliability and troubleshoot issues within Kafka.
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree.
- 6+ years in cloud engineering roles.

- Manage Kafka Brokers, Schema Registry, and Kafka Connectors, setting standards for administration and development teams.
- Develop and enforce guidelines, procedures, and best practices for Kafka use, including producer and consumer functionalities.
- Support upgrades of the Confluent Kafka platform to the latest releases, coordinating with development and operations teams.
- Integrate Kafka into data pipelines and applications in collaboration with product, operations, and architecture teams.
- Provide weekend support for Production Changes and major Incident Escalations as needed.
