Position Description :
- The Manager, Last Mile Transportation will support Companys transportation process for new transportation projects, proof of concepts and pilots.
- The position will focus both on daily execution of existing operational processes and driving process improvement and implementing scalable solutions to the areas of responsibility.
- The position requires communication and coordination with cross functional partners across Grocery Home Shopping, Store Operations, eCommerce Operations, Transportation, FC Operations, Suppliers, and Carriers.
- The role will require the ability to develop a sound understanding of Supply Chain Management to design process improvement opportunities for the Last Mile team.
- Supports and executes defined Company Operations processes by collaborating with cross-functional partners to ensure the needs of the customer and business are met.
- Expectation of daily communication with internal and external partners regarding process information, requirements, and performance measurements to support compliance of the Last Mile business.
- Company Operations process examples include reviewing customer feedback, managing lost or delayed freight, priority shipping, inventory resolution, and daily management of carriers.
- Researches and resolves process breakdown issues for Company Operations by identifying root cause, potential solutions; execution of solutions in a timely manner; and escalates complex issues to manager.
- The candidate will be able to translate iterative problem solving into creation of best-practice standards and ensure their successful implementation at scale at the later roll-out stage.
- Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy and applying these in executing business processes and practices.
- Completes work assignments and priorities in Company Operations by using policies, data, and resources.
- Adapts to and learns from change, difficulties, and feedback.
- Recommends and proactively designs improvement opportunities to enable the Last Mile team to meet its customer promise.
- Solutions will be grounded in data and metrics that drive the business.

What are the day-to-day responsibilities?
- Monitor operations through driver departure, ensuring all vans receive properly created, assigned, and dispensed trips.
- Follow up on prior day's returns.
- Contact vendors and coordinate responses to issues.
- Log all issues via JIRA.
- Communicate with store operations (David Cypher's team) on real-time issues impacting the store, such as undispensed trips affecting the backroom.
- Create a daily issue recap and handoff to Hakeem's team for further action and stakeholder communication.
