Position Summary:
Securian Financial is seeking a SAP PaPM certified consultant to own the technical support of Financial and accounting platforms. Running a best-in-class technology portfolio, this role plays an integral part in shaping the firm's processes, standards, best practices, and strategies. The right candidate must be experienced in deployment of modern SAP Analytics/Reporting offerings, requiring both functional and technical expertise to develop SAP Profitability and Performance Management (PaPM) solutions. The SAP PaPM certified consultant will work directly with business for hands-on delivery, as well as strategic insights on how to run programs/projects efficiently.
Must Have:
- SAP PaPM experience.
- Certified in SAP Profitability and Performance Management.
- Any additional SAP certifications.
- 5-10 years of SAP PaPM experience.
- Bachelors in any of the following.
- Information Technology
- Engineering
- Computer Science
- Business Management
Requirements:
- SAP PaPM certified consultant.
- Well verse on SAP BPC / SAP Analytics Cloud Planning / SAP COPA / Margin Analysis / CO / Universal Allocations.
- Self-motivated and independent with a strong sense of ownership and responsibility for work.
- strong technical aptitude, with proven experience with technical help desk and software support activities preferred.
- strong problem solving, critical thinking and analytical skills to define and understand business needs and determine appropriate solutions.
- Ability to build strong relationships with team members, business users, stakeholders, subject matter experts, and vendors to help navigate through problems, decisions, and related implications.
- Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with experience working both independently, and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical information and facilitate understanding of system capabilities and limitations to non-technical users.
- Prior experience within the Finance industry is preferred, but not required.
- This contract-only SAP PaPM certified consultant will be part of the Financial Product Ecosystem's (FPE) fast-paced agile team at Securian. Modernizing the FPE is the largest implementation of an FPE in Securian's history and there are over 300 individuals across the business working on this initiative.
- This individual will be part of the SAP team accountable to achieve exceptional service functions including configuration, root cause identification, and solution recommendation. They will work closely with their teammates and business partners to fully understand the user functionality, pain points, and areas of improvements within our applications. Additionally, they will document current to future state SAP processes and role mapping of functionalities.
- Hiring manager is looking for a team player with strong written and verbal communication skills who is not afraid to challenge the way things have always been done. A candidate in this position is also expected to dig in and help out in whatever way the team needs.
- Hiring manager is open to a resource supporting CST hours and the resource must be available for occasional off-hour, on-call support..

Team structure:
SAP monitoring team Batch Processing team: 4 Securian Associates + 3 Deloitte resources Security Basis: Currently done by 2 separate roles ABAP: 5-6 resources
- 30+ folks supporting ecosystems today.
- From Associates to Managed Service partner to and CW.
- Group Reporting - can technically support offshore resources but have a lot of contention with resources and business customer. Made onshore to align more closely with business and ensure same timezone support

responsibilities:
Job responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- strong understanding of FP&A and Finance processes.
- Hands-on SAP PaPM skills, including data modelling, process setup, data governance and integration frameworks.
- Understanding of SAP S/4 Finance Universal Journal basic concepts such as Chart of Accounts, Cost Center hierarchies, cost elements, profit center hierarchies, company code setup, etc.
- Understanding of SAP S/4HANA Finance Journal Entries interfaces.
- Background on SAP BPC / SAP Analytics Cloud Planning / SAP COPA / Margin Analysis / CO / Universal Allocations.
- Understanding of SAP HANA, SAP BW, HANA SQL.
- Knowledge of upcoming changes in SAP Analytics & Finance, as well as an eagerness to learn, prototype, and grow expertise in the latest relevant financial technologies.
