Overview:
The Large Engine facility in Lafayette, IN is undergoing a significant expansion to meet growing demand, particularly in the electric power and data center markets. As part of this investment in new capacity, we are seeking an APQP Process Development Specialist to support the development of world-class processes and drive risk mitigation efforts. This role plays a key part in ensuring the successful implementation of large engine programs, with a focus on capital investment and quality readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate across multiple departments to ensure new capital programs are fully supported from a quality perspective, including metallurgical testing, metrology equipment, CMM programming, and validation results.
- Lead weekly staff and prioritization meetings to align on project progress and priorities.
- Facilitate the creation and development of APQP documentation, such as process FMEAs, control plans, and process flow diagrams.
- Monitor and track actions arising from process FMEAs to ensure timely implementation.
- Independently schedule and lead APQP readiness meetings with manufacturing engineering teams.
- Review and/or develop process capability studies and conduct measurement systems analysis.
- Generate and manage final production part approval documentation (PPAP).
- Prepare and deliver formal documentation and presentations for stakeholder updates.
- Expertise in creating and facilitating key APQP elements, including Process Flow Diagrams, Control Plans, and Process FMEAs.
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
- Previous experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
- Strong facilitation skills for leading cross-functional meetings, both in-person and virtual.
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
- 8-10 years of relevant experience required.
